How we write and test the prompts on this site

A look behind the scenes: drafts, rejects and why some prompts take a week.

People sometimes ask whether our prompts are just copied from somewhere. Fair question. The answer is no, and the process is a bit slower than you might expect.

It starts with a real job

Every prompt begins with something one of us actually needed. A logo for a friend. Copy for a client. A product shot for a shop. If nobody needed it, we don't write it.

Then we break it

We run the draft maybe twenty or thirty times with different inputs. Weird brand names, long ones, names in Bangla, tiny sizes. Most first drafts fail somewhere.

We cut words

The final version is usually shorter than the first. Extra adjectives tend to make results worse, not better.

Variables come last

Once a prompt works, we pull out the parts you'd change and turn them into [VARIABLES]. If there are more than six, it's probably two prompts pretending to be one.

And we keep fixing them

Models change every few months. When a prompt stops working well, we update it. If you notice one that's drifting, tell us. Really, it helps.
