How to Prompt AI Video That Looks Like Real Footage
The camera, motion and physics details that separate real-looking video from obvious AI.
Realistic AI video is mostly about motion. A still frame can look photographic, but the moment things move, floating hands and melting backgrounds give the game away. You can reduce this a lot with the right prompt.
Describe the camera rig
Handheld with slight natural shake, a slow dolly push, a locked-off tripod shot. Real footage is shot with real equipment, and naming it gives the model a motion model to follow.
Mention shutter and frame rate
"24fps with natural motion blur" sounds technical, but it nudges the result toward film rather than video-game smoothness.
Keep actions simple
One person pouring coffee looks real. Five people dancing while the camera spins usually does not. Simple, physical actions hold up best.
Use motivated light
Light should come from somewhere in the scene: a window, a street lamp, the sun. Avoid "dramatic lighting" with no source.
Ask for ordinary details
Background people walking past, fabric moving in wind, dust in a light beam. These details make the brain accept the footage.
Choose the right format
Vertical phone-style footage for UGC ads, wide cinematic for brand films, aerial for establishing shots. Each has its own realism cues. Our free realistic video prompts cover cinematic, product, UGC, drone and documentary styles.
